Winona Ryder Overdoses
Winona Ryder was rushed to the hospital yesterday after collapsing on a transatlantic flight bound for Heathrow where the pilot made a priority landing. The actress was taken to a London hospital as speculation grew as to what caused Ryder's health scare. Now it's been revealed that Ryder overdosed on Xanax.
I'm a little confused about how she could ave overdosed on Xanax, not that she needed it. I have to take Dramamine every time I fly. She was treated at the hospital, released the next day, and hopped a flight to a different European city.
What happened to Winona, though? She used to be the epitome of quasi-goth cool; now she's rail thin with a lollipop head which makes her eyes as buggier as ever. Remember her like this?
Iconic. Confident. Now she always looks terrified and angsty. Still, I await her comeback. Someday ...

Hmm, maybe she looks anxious and terrified because people keep holding her to standards from her past, because I'm sure we'd all love to constantly hear, "Wow, you USED to be so great. You were so much better back then."
And if that's not enough, enduring years of people judging your appearance with statements like "lollipop head" or "buggier as ever" seems ample reason to over-indulge in anti-anxiety meds.
I don't know what I'm more upset about--your lack of sensitivity about this or the fact that I just wasted two minutes of my day commenting about it.

Well, Xanax IS to combat anxiety, so maybe it makes sense that she always looks like a rabiit in the headlights of an oncoming 4x4. I can see her taking an extra few if she doesn't like flying, or maybe combining them with alcohol...

I'm thinking that "Girl, Interrupted" may have been so good because she wasn't acting...perhaps it was more her biography.

I think at some point, like many stars, she went from "actor" to "troubled personality" and tried to hide it. Unfortunately, it worked for far too long.

I am sure the Xanax wasn't even her own prescription. The law needs to look at the Dr's who prescribe these pills in the first place.

Urgh. It would be nice if people stopped overdosing -- or at least they should aim for something more interesting than Xanax.
I also think that she does quasi-goth better when she's in a healthier place.
