R. Kelly Divorce Finalized

How did I miss with all of my R. Kelly posts that he was married?  For 11 years?  To someone who I guess doesn't mind that he sleeps with under age girls?  Well, she got a little fed up with it and the couple had been separated since the Fall of 2005.  When they separated his wife Andrea went to court for an emergency restraining order, claiming that he had physically abused, harassed and stalked her.

That's an awfully long time to hammer out a divorce settlement.  Madonna has a lot more money that R. Kelly and her divorce took less than 6 months.

Lawyers for the former couple confirmed the agreement to Usmagazine.com. "The parties have reached an amicable resolution concerning all issues related to their marriage, and will share joint custody of their three children.  The details of this agreement will remain confidential and the family requests that their privacy be respected during this time." 

Andrea told Essence magazine in 2007 that she and Kelly "have a bond that we will have for the rest of our lives because we have children...That we filed for divorce is not that important."  They have two daughters and a son.
