Sarah Jessica Parker And Matthew Broderick Are Reportedly Close To Splitting Up

I recently watched the special features from Sex and The City The Movie DVD (yes I'm a huge loser) and Sarah Jessica Parker's engagement ring was so big all I could do was stare at it.  I have no idea what she was talking about.  Something about fashion and the movie and Mr. Big and ohmyg-d that thing is as big as your head.  But I guess big ring does not mean happy marriage.  Because she and Matthew Broderick and reportedly done, over, fini.

These two have constantly dodged reports that they are splitting, practically from the day they married 11 years ago.  She forgot to thank him in an awards acceptance speech, divorce!  She went to the Tony's without him, divorce!  And then over the summer, rumors circulated that Matthew had had an affair with a much younger woman.

Star magazine says they tried to hold it together for their four year old son James Wilkie - but are now preparing to go their separate ways.  And that Sarah Jessica is moving out.

An insider tells the magazine, "they're essentially living separate lives. The truth is, Sarah and Matthew still do love and care about each other, they just aren't in love, and they don't want to waste any more time trying to repair something that's irreparable."

"The time has come when she realizes it just isn't worth it," a friend of the couple tells Star. "Sarah Jessica is determined to get her own place and bring down the curtain on her marriage."  "They spent the holidays with him, pretending to be happy," says another source. "SJP is a great actress when she has to be!"

Now I love Sex and the City, but I don't know if I would call her a great actress or anything.  Maybe it's just me, but these two always seemed really happy and really committed to maintaining a normal life style.  Well, as much as a normal life style is possible when cameras follow you everywhere and you are gazillionaires.  But James Wilkie goes to public school in New York City and she walks him there everyday.

I think SJP is a great actress and that SATC is evidence considering it's long life and massive amount of fans. I also thought her marriage/family seemed great and strong. This is really a shame, always crappy when couples divorce but for the child, in particular. Bummer.

Eh..if it was said in Star Magazine, is it really true? Who knows, I'm pretty sure according to them, Brad & Angelina have 16 kids now. I guess only time will tell. They do seem pretty normal and happy together, but so did Reese and Ryan.

I've always thought Matthew was gay, but that's just me.

My husband and I met Sarah Jessica and Matthew 5 years ago in Italy. She was the most approachable, adorable person I can imagine and not impressed with herself. We will never forget how much we were impressed with her. Matthew was cool and removed. Sarah Jessica, we love and respect you.
