Britney Spears' Ex Adnan Ghalib Charged With Assault

Britney_spears Adnan Ghalib, who is a member of the paparazzi but is more well known for being Bitney's ex-boyfriend, surrendered Wednesday to face felony charges for allegedly trying to run over a process server. He pleaded innocent in a Van Nuys Superior Court and was released on $110,000 bail.

Britney sure knows how to pick 'em.

After the hearing he want to the police station for formal booking and also visited a bail bondsmen.  Busy day.  I wonder if he took pictures of himself and can later sell them?

He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run and battery, all worth up to seven years in prison if convicted. The charges include special allegations: use of a deadly weapon - a car - and great bodily injury. The charges stem from a Feb. 11 incident at Ghalib's apartment in which Ghalib allegedly tried to assault a process server by running into him. The process server was attempting to serve a restraining order obtained by Britney's father.

To avoid being penned against a trash truck, the victim jumped on the hood and hung on as the car swerved, eventually falling off and breaking his wrist, among other injuries, the District Attorney alleges. Ghalib allegedly drove away without stopping.  That process server, totally deserves a raise.  Talk about dedication to your job.

I have heard a lot of ways of evading service, but that is a new one.  Run the process server over.  I wonder if he has been served yet?  Especially since the very restraining order was extended to March 18, with the case to resume April 1 to hear more witnesses.

Ironically, also yesterday, in a different courtroom than the one Ghalib was arraigned in, Britney's hairdresser testified that Sam Lutfi harassed her with calls and text messages over a period of three weeks last December.  "Someone kept calling me from a private number ... he said his name was Sam," Roberta Romero testified. "He wanted information about Britney He said he was on her side. I told him, 'Leave me alone, stop calling me.' "

Lutfi allegedly sent Romero a series of 11 texts within a four day period, saying things like, "Please relay the truth to her. I did not do this to her," apparently referring to Jamie Spears's indefinite control over the singer's life. Lutfi also allegedly texted Romero: "I've done everything I can to free her from this. Very close to getting her free now." On another occasion he allegedly wrote: "I went to court to free her." Romero says she repeatedly told Lutfi to leave her alone via text.

You will be shocked to learn that Lufti's attorney argued that he also has not been properly served with the restraining order and therefore cannot defend it.  I wonder what he did to evade service.  It cannot be as grand as almost running someone over.
