Courtney Love Sued for Twitter Defamation
Twitter is coming into play more and more into crimes. And celebrities love twitter. So you would expect a marriage of the two. But this is a first. A celebrity sued for what they said on twitter. Courtney Love just won the distinction of being the first celebrity sued for tweeting.
In Los Angeles Superior Court, clothes designer Dawn Simorangkir, also known as Boudoir Queen, last Thursday filed suit against Courtney for defamation, invasion of privacy and infliction of emotional distress for "an extensive rant" on Twitter about how she was billed for custom clothing.
How extensive could she have been? You are limited to 140 characters.
She allegedly wrote grammatically challenged comments like "oi vey don't f--- with my wardrobe or you will end up in a circle of corched eaeth hunted til your dead." She also supposedly called him an ""asswipe nasty lying hosebag thief" and said that that the designer sold cocaine, was a drug addict, a prostitute, a thief, and a "horrible lying bitch."
Anybody follow Courtney Love? Feel free to leave exactly what was said in the comments. I couldn't find them on twitter anymore.
"Whether caused by a drug induced psychosis, a warped understanding of reality, or the belief that her money and fame allow her to disregard the law, Love has embarked (o)n what is nothing short of an obsessive and delusional crusade to terrorize and destroy Simorangkir, Simorangkir's reputation and her livelihood," says the complaint.
Her spokesman declined to comment on the lawsuit. Maybe she should go the Britney Spears route and pay someone to tweet for her.

IF C-Love had the extra cash, im pretty sure paying someone to tweet as her would not been on her list of hot priorities. Foolishly albeit but knowing her & her particular brand of crazy it would just never happen. Still, is it wrong to have unconditional love for her as I do?

Can't we just feel sad for her that she can't even construct a sentence? I mean, really...defamation of character on Twitter? C'mon.
Please don't scare the celebrities away from Twitter. I don't know what I would do without my daily dose of Brent Spiner.

I was going to say that Twitter needs spell check but just noticed that it DOES point out when you've spelled a word wrong. Yikes.
I still love hearing her sing but, man, she is a train wreck.

Now see, I can't even focus on the context of the tweet past the incorrect use of "your". I HATE that!!!
