Doctor Who Performed Kanye West's Mother's Surgery Surrenders License
Kanye West may be MamaPop's reigning douche, and he may be clueless when it comes to the dynamics of domestic violence, but I would not wish upon anyone losing their mother in the manner he did. The doctor who performed the botched plastic surgery the day before her death has surrendered his medical license after several complaints were filed against him.
According to the Medical Board of California: "A series of complaints were filed against Jan Adams, but he chose to surrender his license instead of contest them," Medical Board spokeswoman Candis Cohen told PEOPLE. Among the complaints: Two DUI convictions and failure to pay child support. His record also shows at least four malpractice judgments against him between 2001 and 2007. The actual suspension was based on alcohol offenses and not related to the death of Kanye's mom, Donda.
What is interesting to me is that he didn't even challenge it. He could have demanded a trial in front of the Medical Board. He didn't. He essentially plead guilty. Neither he nor his lawyers have released any statements.
Donda West's autopsy concluded she died of heart failure. Although "there was no evidence of a surgical or anesthetic misadventure," the report found that "multiple post-operative factors could have played a role." "As far as I'm concerned ... at least the autopsy report suggests nothing went on during surgery, nothing went on during recovery," he told Larry King in Jan. 2008.
Before this, Dr. Adams was widely regarded. He had appeared on TV's Extra, the Discovery Channel, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Also before this, West's mother was told by at least one other doctor to NOT undergo this surgery due to her various co-morbid risk factors. She died unnecessarily in the name of vanity.
