"Where The Wild Things Are" Second Poster Released
Warner Bros has released the second poster for Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are on Yahoo.com. Can you tell we here on MamaPop are just, oh, a wee bit excited about this movie? What, did all the OMG OMG OMG-ing and SQUEE!-ing give it away? Uhhh yeah.
Ze new poster after le jump!

I love how they're releasing bits and pieces from the movie -- photos, trailers, posters -- in drips, riling all of us up. Cruel, yet cunning marketing, no?

Probably won't see the movie, even though I have little kids. We are probably the only parent in the Unite States who have never (and will never) read that book to our kids. It's just...creepy. I thought it was creepy when I was a kid, and my husband did too.
How the heck do they make a feature-length movie out of a wee little picture book that barely has any words, anyway? Sounds like Hollywood is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Well I know that the book inspired IMAGINATION in me and my brothers as children so probably the writers and directors used theirs.
And creepy? I hope you never read "In the Night Kitchen" then.

Children's books that aren't pablum often have a creepy side. How about "Goodnight Moon?" Every fairy tale ever written?
"Where the Wild Things Are" is also a book about giving in to your wild side but being welcomed home afterward. Which is decidedly not creepy. I too have my reservations about Hollywood screwing up this story, but I have to admit to being intrigued by the trailers and posters. Yes, clever marketing.

I can hardly stand waiting for this movie to come out! The trailer almost made me cry!
My boyfriend drew a series of "Where the Wild Things Are" pictures a while back and I love having them up in the house. I can't wait to get my hands on these movie posters!
