Bret Michaels Not Suing Tony Awards

While the Tony Awards were in one word, awesome, they did leave Bret Michaels injured in the opening number.  Bret performed a number from the 80's jukebox musical Rock of Ages with Poison.  He was hit by a large sign and broke his nose and split his lip.   

"I got my bell rung!  All in all, I'd like to think I feel okay.  But I got to be honest with you, I feel pretty beat up."  But, he is not planning to sue.  Which is nice, in this overly litigious society.  And hey, I'm a lawyer. 

Bret's full statement is after the jump.

"I want to make very clear to everybody that – first and foremost – I was honored to be asked to be at the Tonys. I'd never done it before and in all my life it's not something I thought I'd be on. I was really excited," Bret says. "There's no lawsuit. I'm not doing any of that. I'm taking the high road."

He has no time to sue.  He will be touring with Poison and Def Leppard this summer and will be promoting his book, Roses and Thorns.

And all you Rock of Love fans will be happy to know that he and the winner Taya Parker are dating. "We're dating, we're having fun, we'll see what happens," Bret says. "It's not exclusive, but we're dating and having a great time."

I love "it's not exclusive" - translation: he can still bang other skanks while he's out on the road. What a charming guy.

It's a real shame that prop didn't managed to knock the SKANK out of him.

Ha! It would have been great for Brett to get full on amnesia when he got knocked in the noggan. At least then we would be full assured of Rock of Love finally coming to an end.
