Debbie Rowe Gets $4 Million Payout Never Mind

Debbie_roweYou can't put a price on parenthood. Unless you're Debbie Rowe, in which case you can specify it down to the last million-dollar bill.

According to a report in the New York Post, Rowe has dropped her nascent custody fight in exchange for a $4 million dollar payout. The best thing? Is that this is not the first or even the second time that Debbie Rowe has become a multimillionare by not parenting her offpsring.

As fans of Michael Jackson's sordid and unbelieveable life already know, Rowe is the biological mother of Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11. She gave up her claim to the children in exchange for $8 million plus $900,000 annually for five years.

Then in 2001, when children were describing in astonishing and accurate detail the splotches on Jackson's genitalia, Rowe put forth a claim for custody of the children. As it turned out, $4 million plus a $900,000 home persuaded her to go away and leave the kids in the care of someone who may have molested a child but definitely paid his accusers $22 million to piss off.

Even assuming that Rowe received only half of those fees - the rest being siphoned off by lawyers and the IRS - that's still somewher over $8 million. Which is more than she could have expected to make as a private nurse or dentist's assistant.

In fairness to Debbie Rowe, I should point out that - on second though, nah. I'd comeg up with reasons to defend her choices, but she just cut a deal for four million bucks. Screw her.

UPDATE: It's not so. Debbie Rowe's lawyers are SO ANGRY OMG.

I can't come up with any good reasons to exploit your biological relationship as mother to two fatherless children... except that you can. That's crazy. I wonder if she even tries to justify herself.

Palinode

For that many millions of dollars, you don't need to justify a thing.

ms martyr

I heard rumors that she was a surrogate and not the biological mother. Has that been confirmed? I think most people agree MJ was not the biological father. Now whoever the biological father really is would be an interesting addition to this mix if he came forward. Of course, that information will probably never be released due to confidentiality laws.

Palinode

God only knows. Those kids probably came out a cyclotron. I bet they're made of antimatter, and one day they'll rip apart the solar system, unless we launch them into deep space right now.

here is one link i found about the whole Debbie Rowe was just a surrogate, not biological.

and from the looks of those kids you would think he picked only the most superior egg and sperm to go together for superior beings. i think it is all test tube.
and if she isn't the mother, then i feel bad that everyone hates her for not wanting the kids, even though they aren't hers. odd situation to be in.

The story about her asking for more money to back off the custody case is untrue and her lawyer has just asked for a retraction from the NY Post. This is being reported on CNN et al.

That being said, her history of taking payouts over her kids is sickening at best.

Palinode

Good linking. I would not be surprised if those kids were Michael Jackson's attempt at eugenics. Their parents could be Lance Armstrong and Leni Riefenstahl for all we know.

Palinode

I've updated the story to reflect the breaking news.

AmyH

Love the new post title. Hilarious.

HOLY HECK! as i was telling jodifur the other day via email, it is like we are reading a whodunnit mystery novel or something. the twists and turns are just keeping us all on the edge of our seats.

Scout's Honor

Poor kids. The surrogacy thing is probably a good thing, yo? I mean that way we know they won't inherit her massive shin, linebacker body and incessant greed which allows her to traffic her own children. Fa-shhhhew!

Scout's Honor

erm...meant chin, but I am sure massive shins applies as well.
