Gwyneth Paltrow took a break from GOOP to go 90210 over the attention Scarlett Johansson is receiving in the Iron Man sequel, out in May. It's being reported that she's boycotting promoting the film at San Diego's Comic Con this month because she was left out of much of the promotional material and not included on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, which featured Roberty Downey, Jr., Johansson, and Mickey Rourke, who plays the villain Whiplash.
Paltrow reprises her role as Pepper Potts, trusty assistant to Tony Stark of Stark Industries. Johansson is the villain Black Widow, the secret identity of Stark's mysterious new assistant, Natasha. She's a femme fatale and obviously Paltrow feels slighted at having to go to the set everyday where Johansson's costume is a tight leather suit and flowing curls while Paltrow's is a strict suit with a stick up her butt.
Oh, sorry, the stick isn't part of the costume. My bad.
I realize that Pepper Potts plays an important role in the comic books but this is a movie and Johansson is one of the antagonists helping to drive the plot, thus the obvious move to promote Johansson's part in the film. Plus, director Jon Faveruerueureur (Favreau) is counting on Johansson to bring the sex appeal and sorry, when I think of femme fatale, I don't think of Paltrow. I just don't. The movies are about providing the audience with a brief suspension of disbelief, an entertaining good time (or thought-provoking catalyst for an existentialist crisis is you see one of those movies), for a few dollars. It's also a business and businesses make money; they do not exist to prop up the ego of an actress who was so fortunate as to be born to a brilliant actress mother and equally sharp producer father.

Gwyneth Paltrow is ridiculous. Insecurity is very unattractive.
