The MamaPop Pop Culture Confessional: Whoorl Edition
Welcome to the MamaPop Pop Culture Confessional, where we receive confession of any and all pop culture pleasures, guilty or otherwise!
Today, our super-speshul guest is Sarah, of Whoorl, and Hair Thursday, and other sundry awesome!
Take it away, Sarah!
Sarah's not-so-guilty pop culture pleasures, in Sarah's own words:
1. So You Think You Can Dance - I considered not including this miracle of programming in my list because, frankly, I feel NO shame for watching this show. (This is supposed to be a confessional, right?) The dancers, the choreography, Cat Deeley's fantastic hair...holy Christ, I love this show and will shout it from the rooftops. However, I might need penance for the following. I just recently found out that Nigel Lythgoe has a Twitter account (@dizzyfeet, holla!) and am now gleefully following him.
2. The Backyardigans - Thank God this show is
my toddler's favorite. Otherwise, I would have no excuse for busting
out some Pirattitude while driving around in my car. Alone.
3.
STFU, Parents - Some probably find this blog offensive, but COME ON.
Let's have a hearty chuckle and sing Kumbaya afterwards. Admit it, you
have some "friends" that feel it necessary to update their Facebook
status with the consistency of their child's bowel movements. You
don't? Well, YOU ARE VERY LUCKY, INDEED.
4. Weeds - I started
watching last season's reruns during a 3-months-free Showtime deal with
our satellite network. I am now fully obsessed. The free deal is now
over. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
5. Center Stage - Sure, this movie
came out 9 years ago, but that doesn't keep me from popping it into my
DVD player at an embarrassing frequency. It also doesn't keep me from
putting red curly ribbons in my hair and dancing around my living room
to "Canned Heat" by Jamiroquai. Does anyone know where I can purchase a
pair of cherry red satin pointe shoes?
Thanks, Sarah!
Sooo.. what's pleasuring all of you this week?

You are most welcome! Now, if you'll excuse me, I must attend to my toddler who woke up at 6:20am with a diaper full of urine! ;)

Sarah, Center Stage will never get old. It's one of the reasons I cannot resist the urge to dance to "Higher Ground." No matter where I am when it comes on.

Yeah, Center Stage is on the top of my "anytime" movie list. Anytime excluding when the bf is around, of course. LOVE that movie. And LOVE watching it with dancer friends that critique it all to hell and still their eyes light up during the dance sequences.
Now off to check out some STFU goodness...

I just became a SYTYCD junkie this season. SO addicting! and fascinating, and it makes me pay attention to my leg movements while i'm washing dishes during commercials... haha

Oh yes Center Stage! My sister gets obsessed with the weirdest movies and this is one of them. <3 I enjoy it too. The sequel has the motorcycle guy!
