Gwyneth Paltrow Builds a Huge Freaking House

I just love watching rich people spend money. Especially when one of those rich people is a millionaire musician who lives an ironic life chastising others for their materialism while simultaneously wearing the jankiest of Hot Topic arm bands on his jacket.

But you already know that I think Coldplay sucks. 

Paltrow and husband Chris Martin recently purchased the house next door to their grand British home and the submitted plans show the result will be a 33-room super-mansion. 

Despite what I think of GOOP, the couple themselves, or Chris Martin's music, I live the capitalist's dream thus don't blame them for expanding their house if they can afford it, as the work will create jobs in the area and mean that Paltrow spends less time condescending to people stateside about how we should be more like the Europeans. It also looks like the Martin-Paltrow clan is respecting the original integrity of the home's structure as well as respecting the overall neighborhood aesthetic, which translates into relief for their neighbors. 

Both chef Jamie Oliver and Paltrow bestie Madonna have done the same with their properties and yes, if I could buy my neighbor's house, join it to ours, knock down the fence, and put in a pool, I would.
