 A week ago the 200-plus member Television Critics Association announced the winners of the 2009 TCA Awards honoring the best television programming of the past year. hrm. still pondering this list. not sure i agree with it all.

i do feel that having only "drama" and "comedy" rankings for the last 10 years leaves lots of shows off the list or leaves shows in no category. seems very limiting. why isn't there a "sci-fi" list or "gay/lesbian" list? i think shows such as "Six Feet Under" and "Queer as Folk" and "The 4400" were excellent shows. They aren't on this list at all.

also--there are many shows that are hard to categorize. I think "Gilmore Girls" was a fantastic show, but is it a comedy? drama? hybrid of both?

The lists are frustrating.
