Does Kirsten Dunst Have to Pull Stupid Stunts to Get Roles? Already?

I know that she bugs some people but I kind of like Kirsten Dunst. I haven't forgotten how good she was as Claudia in "Interview with the Vampire". I loved "The Virgin Suicides" and "Drop Dead Gorgeous" and "Bring it On". So why, at 27, is she already resorting to crashing parties to audition for roles?

The rumor is that she crashed a party for Jane Campion because she is dying to get a role in Runaway, a film that Campion is working on that will be based on Alice Munro's book of short stories.

When I read about this I thought to myself - Self, why couldn't Kirsten Dunst just call her agent and get an audition? She gets a lot of work. She has done some quality films. She is working on her fifth Spider-Man movie.

Then it hit me! FIVE Spider-Man movies? The fourth film is in pre-production and the fifth one is in development, but if they suck as bad as the first two movies do I may have started to realize why Dunst needs to crash parties to get noticed these days.

Say what you want about Spider-Man (and my husband and son are probably going to disown me for saying this) but in my opinion those first two movies sucked so bad that I won't even watch the third one. Hopefully four and five will go straight to video. Tobey Maguire was miscast as Peter Parker and they just keep on letting him be Spider-Man.

I mean, come on! Val Kilmer only got to be Batman once and he is a great actor. He just wasn't a very good Batman.

I don't know what makes me sadder, that someone with her resume couldn't get the audition in the first place or that Kirsten Dunst is the kind of person who crashes parties to get noticed.
