Elizabeth Edwards Meets With Divorce Attorney as Tell-All Book Nears Completion

I would welcome this latest development as an interesting plot twist were this not some poor woman's actual life.

It's been reported that John Edwards has not only set up a residence for Rielle Hunter near the Edwards' family home in Wilmington, N.C., but that he's also preparing to make a public announcement soon admitting paternity of Rielle's one-year-old daughter, Frances, despite Elizabeth Edward's "vehement opposition".

Since Elizabeth has done her best over the last year to ignore both the affair and the resulting child, even forbidding the use of Rielle's name in her presence during interviews, it's no surprise that this news has FINALLY sent Elizabeth running for a divorce lawyer. 

Despite her best efforts Rielle Hunter just won't go away and neither will this story.  As a matter of fact, it's just getting started.

John's former aide, Andrew Young, is set to release his tell-all book very soon exposing even more of John's dirty secrets.

Andrew's book exposes a family unraveling at the seams with John making sex tapes and wedding plans with Rielle while Elizabeth anonymously blasts her on blogs and leaves incriminating messages on Andrew Young's home voicemail.

Among the more disturbing claims in Andrew's book are the assertions that John has had affairs with other women on the campaign trail (you don't say!), that Rielle screamed at John when he was forced to call off her birthday dinner because Elizabeth's cancer had returned (charming), and that after the affair was discovered Elizabeth made John sleep in their barn (you know, with the other asses).

Does that baby not look just like John?

Reportedly, John plans on moving his mistress into her new home and publicly claiming their child within the next few weeks.  Which only leaves one to assume that now that John is under a grand jury investigation for misuse of campaign funds thereby dashing his hopes of political ascension, he just doesn't need his dying wife anymore.

I don't know about you, but I hope John's next tussle is with a bitch named Karma.

I'm all out of sympathy for Elizabeth Edwards. Why would she be "vehemently opposed" to John acknowledging paternity of his child? Doesn't Frances deserve to be recognized and supported by her father?

Why would Elizabeth want him to publically announce his paternity? He is obviously taking care of this baby privately, the mother has only the one talent we know too much about now. She's too old to continue in her former career so she is taking him for all she can. Announcing paternity publically will only hurt Elizabeth's children. Do their children really need to hear about it on the playground at school?

I cannot imagine what Elizabeth must be going through and knowing that she is going to leave her two young children in the custody of a man that can do such awful things. During the presidential primary, when discussing candidates w/ the hubby, said I just couldn't vote for Edwards. Couldn't put my finger on it, but didn't like him even though he was enjoying immense popularity. Now I know what it is - he is a giant sack of crap.

John Edwards is scum - the scummiest of scum. BUT, I'm kind of disappointed in Elizabeth too. If you don't want the baby's name even mentioned in your home, throw John the hell out! John should acknowledge Frances as his child because Frances IS AN INNOCENT CHILD! I know Elizabeth has been through a lot - more than many people could handle, but the poor child in this case should not be hurt in sorting things out. Edwards' other children will learn to deal with their new half-sibling. Life is not perfect and there are all kinds of crazy mixed-up families. I think setting an example of not claiming the child as his own would be a much worse scenario than just owning up to his imperfections and trying to go on from here as best as possible.

I think he's tangling with karma in every way conceivable. Every aspect of his life that mattered besides his kids is pretty much over, it seems.

If only everyone got this kind of shitstorm when the cheated. It's kind of interesting the cost for him in terms of reputation vs. the cost for most guys who leave their wife for someone young (and often icky...

Rielle is icky...She is uneducated, unattractive and utterly lacking in all accomplishment or talent. I suspect a conversation with her would be some torturous nightmare, spiced with references to new age gobbledy gook and Opraheseque ideas of all kinds. It has always interested me how the replacement wife for non-billionaires or super celebrities is kind of a step down from the first wife, with youth being virtually the only asset.

You have to remember that he has aspirations to be GREAT. Now he's a joke. I personally could not survive the shaming or the unending scrutiny.

You'd have to have been cheated on to get Elizabeth Edward's reaction. Being cheated on is incredibly traumatic. On top of cancer? I don't think she is being super big hearted but I'm sure the way she looks at it, Rielle had the baby to do what she did do--which was to milk it as a permanent career. She has no career or any job to speak of. It would rankle me if the woman who imposed such damage on my family then basically got everything she wanted. Ugh. Maybe also that she fears that once he acknowledges Rielle can play that for a public position of some kind...and that would be torture to watch if one were in Elizabeth Edward's shoes.

Rielle Hunter's name isn't even Rielle Hunter. It's a made up name.

Sorry, but Elizabeth Edwards can damn well say she will not have that slut Rielle's name mentioned in her presence is she wants. Yeah, yeah, it takes two to tango, and yes, it's not that child's fault that it's mother has basically made a name for herself ONLY for the fact that she banged John Edwards. But why should Elizabeth have to acknowledge or even accept any of this shit?

Elizabeth has TERMINAL CANCER, what part of SHE'S DYING are people having problem understanding?? She DOESN'T NEED TO PLAY NICE! John is a sonofabitch snake, who it seems can't even make an attempt at standing by showing love and respect for the woman who has stood by him for what now, 30 years?
