Former Miss California Carrie Prejean Sues for Religious Discrimination
Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean is suing pageant official for libel, slander and religious discrimination, accusing them of
telling her to stop mentioning God even before her controversial
remarks against gay marriage.
Prejean named California pageant executive director Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler, who served as a co-director before resigning in protest of Prejean. Prejean is also suing publicist Roger Neal, who handles press for Miss California USA and Lewis.
She filed the suit in L.A. County Superior Court, and claims the Miss California people "conspired to get rid of her" beginning on April 21st -- when she said on the "Today" show that she would rather be "biblically correct than politically correct." The lawsuit accuses Lewis, Moakler and Neal of using Internet sites such as Facebook and Twitter to post disparaging remarks about Prejean.
Donald Trump -- who owns the Miss Universe Organization -- is NOT named in the suit. Odd. My guess? She was afraid to go against the Donald. He would throw so much money at this lawsuit to make it go away.
But in her suit, Carrie says the Miss California USA people "fabricated a fraudulent list of some 50 public appearances allegedly missed by Prejean which they released to the media in order to justify her termination as Miss California USA."
In the suit, Carrie claims officials also tried to "set up Prejean to have her dismissed as Miss California USA by asking her to do a Playboy photo shoot for $120,000."
A rep for Moakler told TMZ: "Ms. Moakler has not yet been served with Carrie Prejean's lawsuit. However, on Ms. Moakler's behalf, I can say unequivocally that Ms. Prejean's lawsuit is without merit. More importantly, as everyone who watched or read her public statements is well aware, Ms. Prejean's unfortunate and bigoted statements are responsible for any public humiliation or damages to her reputation that she has claimed to have suffered. Ms. Moakler strenuously denies that she did anything wrong and looks forward to proving that in a court of law."
The complaint does not state a specific dollar figure that Prejean is seeking. It claims she has been subject to public ridicule and humiliation and lost out on modeling work because she lost her crown. She has also suffered anxiety, depression and loss of sleep since her firing, the lawsuit states.

So erm, really? Is she going to sue ALL of us out in the world on Facebook/Twitter etc for all the stuff we'd said about her too? Useless bag of bleached hair and teeth this broad is. I sincerely hope the judge tosses this suit out on it's ass.
This screams "Look at me! Look at me!" She needs to stop begging for attention and get a gig at Fox news like she so rightly deserves, that'll teach her!
Also, she's a bigot, she can hide behind religion all she wants but MY God doesn't hate gay peeps. So, :P

The thing is, in her actual pageant comment, she wasn't overtly rude...(I DO BELIEVE IN GAY MARRIAGE AND MY GOD TOTALLY LOVES GAY PEEPS, TOO)...part of freedom of speech is letting people express their beliefs, even if they are wrong. but her (and frankly, perez hilton's) behavior after the fact are deplorable. If you don't want to be judged on your beliefs, don't state them.
And didn't she get fired for breach of contract? she said she had never posed nude, but she had?
I do think she is a bigot, that she is unintelligent (saying you believe something because you were 'raised that way' just says you are too dumb to think things out for yourselves), but I think any bad press she gets is over her being an a-hole as opposed to religious...i hope this case gets trashed...her 15 minutes are OVER...time to go back to the trailer park, miss thang.

Well, if she's suing for religious discrimination, then I'm going to sue her for even being born. Because that was all God's fault.
