Glee Dissed By NBC/Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
I have a brand new reason to not watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. NBC had a hissy fit when they realized that the cast of Glee (a FOX show) was supposed to perform during the spectacle.
It wasn't like I needed another reason not to watch. I freaking hate parades, and now I kind of hate NBC. I see their point, Glee airs at the exact time as Law and Order: SVU. I guess NBC thinks that if the people who are still interested in sex crimes after all these years of Law and Order might be drawn away to another network by people in their mid to late 20's pretending to be in show choir.
I don't want that to come out wrong. I personally love Glee. I even may or may not have been in show choir. I just can't see why NBC is frightened. I mean is there anyone left on the planet who hasn't heard about Glee already? And how many of us would have actually turned on the dreaded Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade just to see what the Glee cast came up with?
*raises hand*
I know that all of their musical numbers are over produced and choreographed like The Wiz, but the show is also well written. It is funny and touching. (I cried when Kurt came out to his father. I am only human!)
Eh, screw NBC and Macy's. I'll be watching Glee on Wednesday nights anyway,
And in my mind the parade would have gone something like this:
« Katie Holmes Wins: Suri Starts Catholic School | Main | Miss Homeless Belgium, In Which the Losers Remain Homeless »

Bad move on NBC's part. I might have watched for the chance to gleek out to a cast number, but instead I'll probably listen to a Charlie Brown X-Mas while I dress my turkey. Your loss, NBC/Universal/GE/Globochem!

Bad move! Jump on that cultural zeitgeist, Macy's Day Parade. Or, just become kind of obsolete.
