Jennifer Aniston Gets Talk Show; World Rolls Eyes
Look, I like Jennifer Aniston well enough. Who didn't like Rachel, and her hair? And she was in Office Space, one of the most underappreciated movies of all time, and also was actually pretty good in that movie with Jake Gyllenhaal, the one where she played a totally non-Rachel person who works at Wal-Mart or something and falls for Gyllenhaal's character who is like half her age but it's totally not like that sub-plot on Friends where Rachel dates her assistant. Yanno?
Anyway, she's getting a talk show, and I'm all, like, YAWN.
Not because Jennifer Aniston is inherently boring. Just, what does she have to talk about, exactly? No, really. Men? Bad Career Choices? How To Hate The Woman Your Ex-Husband Left You For And Not Look Like A Bitter Bitch?
(Okay. I KNOW. Talk show hosts don't actually have to have anything interesting to say themselves. They just have to smize and occasionally get a breast exam or high colonic performed on them onscreen. Just ask Tyra.)
The show will be (is rumored to be) a weekly show on Oprah's new OWN network, which is set to launch sometime next year. And if this means that Jenny 'I Hate Vaccines And Doctors And SCIENCE' McCarthy' doesn't get her own Oprah-approved talk show, I'm all for it, I suppose.
Also? Jennifer Aniston is, I think it is safe to say, the talk show host least likely to give herself a colonic onscreen - we're looking at YOU, Tyra - or to invite Dooce and chat about the fucking Mommy Wars. So, for that alone, I think that I can get behind this.
And if she gets John Mayer and Gerard Butler on for a little ex-boyfriend man-scramble, well, that will just be a bonus.

I give it a month. *yawn*

I've never understood all the Aniston hating. I like her a lot, and even if she did look bitter (which, I don't think she does), I think she has every right to be for like, eternity.
Because, would YOU ever recover from losing Pitt's ass? I mean, honestly.
Or maybe I'm just boring also. That's a distinct possibility.
