Kate Gosselin Files for Child And Spousal Support

The Gosselin drama, does it ever end?

Kate has filed court documents asking for child support and temporary spousal support in the wake of Jon taking nearly $230,000 from their joint bank account.  "She needs relief in light of the draining of substantial marital assets in violation of the arbitrator's decision that the money should be used only for specific purposes," says Mark Momjian, one of her divorce attorneys.

Oh, and supposedly her credit card was denied this weekend, when she was trying to get gas, and she had to abandon the whole pay at the pump thingie, AND WALK IN THE STORE AND PAY CASH.  Of course the paparazzi got the whole thing on film.  News at 11.

A hearing on the child support and spousal support issues were supposed to be heard last week, but the case got postponed when the judge's wife died.  No new court date has been set.  These people have the worst luck. 

Jon's divorce attorney, Mark Heller, continues to say that he still hopes the two sides can work out the monetary issues without having to involve a judge any further.  "We are hoping in the next few days we can all do some bookkeeping," he says. "I'm pretty sure this can come to a cordial resolution."

I wouldn't bet the farm on that one.  Or 1.8 million dollar estate.  Whichever.

It is so sad. I wonder if it was the show, the 8 children, or just typical "growing apart" that drove Jon and Kate apart but any way you look at it, it sucks. Also, Jon is just blergh! the ickiest guy ever.

Um, maybe I am missing something but isn't she the working spouse in this scenario? I think Jon is a douche, but it seemed as though he was the SAHD and she was the one with the career. Doesn't excuse his making off with the savings, but if you were the dependent spouse booted off the gravy train wouldn't you do the same?

I don't believe she is hurting for money. I do think she is quite brilliantly playing her husband's idiot mis-steps.

In the end, all I can think is "those poor kids".

No matter what *truth* gets dug up regarding the financial issues.....Jon is a douche and Kate is a shrew. BUT. I'd be a shrew too, if my husband had pulled 1/16th of the CRAP Jon dishes out. I am actually surprised that Jon keeps getting more ridiculously nasty and douchey. I kept wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he's used up all of his chances. And then some. I think that if he did take $230K out of their joint account out of retaliation for getting booted off the show, it just proves that he's in the throes of a Class A 13 year old girl style, temper tantrum. GROW UP JACKASS!

I agree totally with Annie: Jon-douchebag, Kate-shrew. I think that since they split up Jon has been the worst of the two, but let's not forget all those early years with Kate screaching through Toys R Us for Jon to "get over here, NOW". I think Kate better watch out for a counter-suite considering Kate is the one earning an honest living while he just parties all night long.

And I agree with everyone - poor kids!!!
