Monty Python Reunite For All To See - Even You!

40th anniversary, people. Forty effing years of Monty Python, and the remaining members will be getting back together for a reunion, which YOU, yes, YOU can see, because you're all very good Python fans and have earned this yummy cookie.

That's because it's not just a reunion, it's going to be televised AND on ye olde interwebs, and it's going to be freaking fantastic. All the details after the jump.

So we'll start with the bad news. You ain't seeing the reunion live on stage at the Ziegfeld Theater in NYC. No, my spam-loving friends, that's invite only, and you're not invited. But there's hope! IFC.com and pythonline.com are live streaming the show, and it'll be on IFC if you're lucky enough to get that channel. So you have NO excuse not to watch, other than if you're miserable fish slappers who hate fun.

It's incredible to see that forty years down the line, new fans of Python are created every day. I'll never forget the first episode I saw, over 20 years ago. I couldn't have been older than 10, and it was this little gem of a sketch.

I got the script for Holy Grail when I was 12. I could recite the entirety of the Parrot Sketch when I was 14. My social skills in high school were questionable at best, but damn if I didn't know my Monty Python. And really, who was actually cool in high school? I don't regret a thing.

So go forth and re-live your favorite sketches! And be sure to tune in for the big Anniversary Special on Thursday, October 15th. Introduce Python to your kids if you haven't already. If you don't, I'll tell everybody that your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.
