Levi Johnston to File for Joint Custody

It is nasty custody fight week here on Mamapop.  Yesterday, Levi Johnston, baby daddy to Sarah Palin's grandson and current Playgirl centerfold, indicated he is planning on filing for joint custody of his baby with Bristol Palin, Tripp.

He says the informal arraignment he has had with the Palin family has fallen apart.  He says the Palins are not allowing him to see his son.  "Not working. I'm done.  It's going to have to go to court. They just finally pushed me over the edge."

I'm sure it helps when he takes every opportunity to bad mouth Sarah Palin everywhere, even claiming she referred to her infant son Trig, who has Down syndrome, as "retarded."  Sarah Palin's response was: "Those who would sell their body for money reflect a desperate need for attention and are likely to say and do anything for even more attention.  We, like many, are appalled at the inflammatory statements being made or implied. Trig is our 'blessed little angel' who knows it and is lovingly called that every day of his life."

Two teenagers fighting over a baby, one who seems to be in love with the media attention. Throw in the mix an ex-governor on a book tour, and like or hate her politics, I think as parents we can all agree we all just want what is best for the 10-month-old baby stuck in the middle.

Never thought I'd see the day when I back Sarah Palin on ANYTHING. But that guy? Is a douchebag of the highest order.

Reason number 152 why you do not use teenagers as political capital. She put him on the national stage so the pregnancy would be less scandalous. They painted a picture that didn't really exist. Now he is out on his own and the strategy is totally back-firing.
Meanwhile, poor Tripp has to deal with the consequences. I said it last year and I will say it again: if I had been Sarah Palin, I would not have accepted the offer to run for VP so that my family would never have been put in this position.
...But that's just me...

I don't know. He isn't the greatest guy in the world, but in general, seems to me like any 20-ish Alaskan dude. And custody battles are rough, no matter who the people are.
But, frankly, having been exposed to her governorship for a couple of years, I am inclined to not believe anything Palin says.
