Regarding Your Expected Mad Men Recap

Due to unanticipated technical difficulties today's Mad Men recap will actually be tomorrow's Mad Men recap. We apologize for any inconvenience or distress this delay may cause you, the Mad Men-loving public.

In the interim, please enjoy this humorous sketch comedy video featuring delicious Jon Hamm:

Kids In The Hall Are Back. Still Canadian.

Kids600 The Kids in the Hall were super funny in the early 90s for their irreverent form of sketch comedy that while sometimes riffing too heavily on Monty Python and other times just falling flat, was straight-up awesome from a "What the hell am I watching?" perspective. It was a defining moment in my appreciation of The Comedic Arts when Bruce McCulloch, playing a boy with a cabbage head, declared "I have a cabbage for a head! I'm the king of the sympathy fuck!" Well said Bruce. Well said.

Breaking! Funny Stuff on the Internet is Still Funny! Sometimes.

Dramatic_chipmunk_prairiedog There's a lot of funny on the web right now.  This isn't part of it.  Yet.

That's right, buckle up, reader!  I'm bringing funny back.  Those other bitches won't know how to act.  Unless they laugh, which is pretty much what I'm aiming for.

And by bringing funny back I mean I'm going to show you videos and such that other people made and that I find funny.  That's so much easier than being funny myself.

They bet me I couldn't write the word "funny" 10 times in one post. Ha, that's funny.

Parody of Mercy Adoption with All Malawian Cast Hits Stage. My Guess is Madonna Won't Like It.

Madonna_adoption_malawi Hey, remember when Madonna set out to adopt Mercy from Malawia but she was delayed by the Malawian courts and it didn't look good for her request to go through?

Then all of the sudden she got the go-ahead and you could almost hear the question popping into heads everywhere "Was that because she is a rich celebrity?"

Yes, well that question certainly crossed the minds of more than just celebrity reporters and now that reaction has translated into a parody stage show, "Mercy Madonna Of Malawi". The play tackles contentious issues like financial influence and loss of culture in foreign adoptions.

Added bonus: the show totally mocks Madonna and her music

Pee-Wee Herman Returning to the Stage

Pee-wee-herman Years before Pee-Wee's Playhouse took a prominent place in the Saturday morning roster of children's programs on CBS, the Playhouse characters performed their antics for a live audience at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles.

Paul Reubens, the man behind Pee-Wee Herman, will revive the stage show for a limited engagement in Hollywood.

Recapping The Joan Rivers Celebrity Roast: The Good, The Bad, And the Just Plain Not Funny

Joan_Rivers_Roast I love a good celebrity roast. The trouble is, there hasn't really been a good one in a while. For one thing, the Comedy Central-hosted roasts have never been as funny as the earlier Friar's Club sponsored events. They seemed to miss the point that a certain amount of mutual respect between roaster and roastee is somewhat necessary for a good roast, instead seeking out "honorees" that are little more than walking talking punchlines — please refer to the Pam Anderson and Flava Flav roasts for illustration.

Unfortunately, the Joan Rivers roast—for which I had high hopes because the guest of honor is a legitimate comedy persona, rather than merely the personification of a joke—did not do much for the Comedy Central Roast franchise, though there were some highlights. Let me break it down:

Coming to Terms with Russell Brand

Russell-Brand101 Last year, during the VMAs, I realized a few things. 1) I exited the MTV demographic several years ago and I'm cool with that because 2) ALL OF THIS MUSIC SUCKS and 3) Russell Brand was most decidedly unfunny. His jokes fell flat and his presence just added fuel to the fire of annoyance that was that show and I wrote him off as Just Another Person I Hate (and there are lots of them).

A Brief Tutorial on Crabcore

Crabdance A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I got into some argument about something or other. And as many of our arguments tend to go, it quickly devolved from a spirited debate into, "You're stupid/No, YOU'RE stupid/Your mom!/No, YOUR mom!" And as a method of shutting me down, my husband threatened to litter my Facebook wall with crabcore videos. Deathblow.

What is crabcore, you ask? Allow me to make your reality suck a bit more enlighten you.

MacGruber...the Movie

Macgruber Tired of competent action heroes? You're in luck. According to The Hollywood Reporter, MacGruber is coming to a theater near you. MacGruber, played by Saturday Night Live comedian Will Forte, is basically MacGyver with ADD and emotional problems, for those of you who don't watch Saturday Night Live or the clips that go viral for weeks after the show airs.

The film will also star the increasingly ubiquitous but still funny Kristin Wiig. There is some talk of Val Kilmer and Ryan Phillippe starring as well, though neither actor is confirmed. Honestly, I'm struggling to figure out why I should care either way, since Ryan Phillippe pretty much philandered his way into obscurity, and Val Kilmer...I dunno, what happened to him? Remember Real Genius? I totally would've hit it. Anyway, with Jorma Taccone of "The Lonely Island" fame (i.e., those gentleman responsible for basically every SNL Digital Short that has made you laugh your ass off) as director, I'd like to be optimistic. But then I reflect upon Saturday Night Live's rather spotty history with taking sketches to the big screen. Let's reflect together, children.

Check Out Denise Richards' Funbags!

Denise-richards-funbags-2Any parent who's ever thrown a kid's birthday party knows the most labor intensive part of the entire process is putting together the dreaded Goodie Bags. Who invented this masochistic, time-consuming, crappy tradition? Invite a bunch of kids to a party, babysit them, feed them, and then send them home with a bag of knick-knacks that probably cost more than the gift they brought? Why not just hand out $20 bills at the door?

But check it out - maybe for your next party, save yourself some time and trouble and have Denise Richards' bring over her Funbags! As she says in the following video, "I've been showing off my Funbags at parties for years, and now they're yours to enjoy!" And the kids love them. "Her parties are the best! I can't wait to get my hands on her Funbags!" says a satisfied 10-year-old.

It's Official: The Daily Show Makes The White House Piddle Their Pants

Jon_stewart Oh ye of little faith! All of you (okay, me too) thought that political comedy was going to be a little thin on the ground once Obama took office, right?  WELL. Everyone on both sides of the playing field take note, cause there's plenty of funny in this story for everyone. Well, unless you're Dick Cheney. Then you're pretty much screwed.

So who is really making politicians sweat these days, and what is the White House doing in order to save face with this superpower? Whoever could it be???

I'll give you a hint: He's a snarky New Yorker on basic cable.

Ugliest Tattoos: In Case the State of the World Has You Feeling Schadenfreude-Deficient

Ut-sixpack Let's face it: things right now are...not great. The situation in Iran gets more and more intense every day. The economy is still utter poo. Psychos are out in full force and heavily armed. Personally, I often find myself feeling pretty crappy about being a member of the human race. And sometimes, when I'm that kind of mood, I just really need somebody to look down on. I'm not saying it's good or healthy, but sometimes I just need help getting out of bed with the knowledge that I'm not the biggest idiot around.

Enter Ugliest Tattoos.

Hammer Pants Flash Mob FTW

Hammer_pants The early 90s were a weird time in the U.S. We were emerging from the ickiness of the 80s and the 90s spread in front of us, full of possibility and the promise of a new millennium. The optimism of the that time was a breeding ground for trends like Hypercolor (why have a shirt that's just one color when it can be multiple colors depending on who's fondling your boobs?), wearing clothes backwards (Reagan's gone! I'm totally Krossed out!), and, of course, Hammer pants (it's the 90s! Let's get billowy!).

Hammer pants were brought to us by super-positive rapper MC Hammer, whose career became a cautionary tale of quick fortunes when, just six years after the mind-boggling international success of his album Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em, he filed bankruptcy due to being $13 million in debt.

Charm School 3 and My Super Rad Idea

Charm_school_3 I will admit upfront to being rather ignorant to the Rock of Love/Real Chance of Love/Charm School phenomena. I have precious few brain cells at this point in life and I need to preserve them for things like eating and tying my shoes. Plus, my interest in reality TV pretty much stopped around the London edition of The Real World, so these weird spin-offs of spin-offs of spin-offs of shows, featuring the dregs of reality stars, just don't grab me. Well, I'll watch a few episodes here and there, but I can't really get into them.

Anyway, I was just watching the official preview of Charm School 3 and had a sweet idea, inspired by host Ricki Lake.
