One of the two Ohio police chiefs charged with trying to sell the personal belongings of the surrogate that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick used goes on trial this week. The guy accused of extorting David Letterman, Robert Joel "Joe" Halderman, is asking for the charges to dismissed. His big excuse, "there was no extortion. This was a commercial transaction, nothing more. [Letterman's] celebrity is why we are here today," his lawyer, Gerald Shargel, said.
