Debbie Rowe Threatens To Sue Over Leaked Child-Custody Emails

Debbie Rowe is just all about the lawsuits lately.  Now she is threatening to sue a friend who released emails to the television show Extra purportedly showing Rowe with deep misgivings about asserting her custody rights for Michael Jackson's two oldest children.      

Rowe is quoted as telling Rebecca White on July 5: "Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely. I don't want to look like the woman who gave away her kids and just forgot about them."

Mother of the year she is.

Britney Spears' Ex Adnan Ghalib To Stand Trial For Assault

Aw, Britney and Adnan.  It has been so long since I wrote a Britney story.  When I first started writing for MamaPop that seemed to be all I wrote. 

Adnan Ghalib will stand trial for felony assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and hit-and-run stemming from an incident at Ghalib's apartment in which Ghalib allegedly tried to assault a process server by running into him. The process server was attempting to serve a restraining order obtained by Britney's father.

Custody Hearing over Jackson's Children Postponed

The custody hearing over Michael Jackson's children scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled for July 20th.  Katherine Jackson and Debbie Rowe are talking settlement.  I suspect that settlement involves Katherine playing Debbie a large sum of money.

Or maybe I'm just cynical.

Former MVP Quarterback Steve McNair Shot In Apparent Homicide

Steve McNair and his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, were found shot and killed over the holiday weekend in her apartment, by a semiautomatic pistol owned by her, purchased two days before the killing.  McNair was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest, and his girlfriend was shot once in the head.

Authorities classified McNair's death a homicide but have not decided how to classify Kazemi's.  Sounds like she shot him and then shot herself to me.  But the police are also interviewing Kazemi's former boyfriend, Nashville Metropolitan Police Department Spokesman Don Aaron said.

Rihanna Busted Working Without a License

I just realized my title makes this sound worse than it is, or possibly better depending on how your mind works. Either way, the story is this: Rihanna was at her favorite tattoo parlor just hanging out with BangBang and the boys when those crazy kids thought it would be a good idea if Rihanna was on the giving end - of some tattoos.

Apparently she did a lovely job but there was a hitch.

Conviction Thrown Out in MySpace-Suicide Case

We were driving to the beach on Thursday, along with half of the Washington D.C. area, and my husband was reading this story to me on his Blackberry, and I'm all huh?  What?  This is over, done.  I learned about "judgment not withstanding the verdict" in law school but that like, never happens.

Ahem.  I guess it does.

For those of you who I have no idea what I am talking about, Lori Drew was convicted last November of three misdemeanor charges having to do with violating MySpace's terms of agreement.  She essentially lied about her age in order to cyber bully then 13 year old Megan Meier, who killed herself.  Last week the judge threw out the jury's verdict.  Kind of.  

DEA Joins Michael Jackson Death Investigation As His Will Is Revealed And Custody Battle Ensues

The Federal Government has joined the investigation into Michael Jackson's death, at the LAPD's request. Evidence now has surfaced that Michael was using painkillers, sedatives and antidepressants.  

"In this business, the pressures and things that you go through, you never know what one turns to," Jermaine Jackson, Michael's brother, said. 

Cristiano Ronaldo Flips Out at Fan

Tanorexic soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo, who was recently linked to Paris Hilton, is defending himself against a fan, 17-year-old Sara Pardal, whose car window he kicked out when he discovered she was videotaping him. He alleges that the girl was accompanied by a member of the paparazzi.

Pardal stationed herself outside of his Lisbon apartment where, Ronaldo insists, she was "standing for days on end in front of my house, eating yogurt and waiting for anything newsworthy to happen."

She sounds like a real TREAT.

Usher Demands Paternity Test

Admittedly I don't know much about Usher except that he used to date one of the members of TLC and Naomi Campbell. That last fact makes me think he is either likes divas or being beaten by cell phones.

Anyhow, he didn't marry either of those former lovers, he married some lady named Tameka (I was told this is Cherokee for Gold Digger) who earlier this year went to some South American country to get some "work" done. And when I say work, I mean it was reportedly the type of work that results in either an inflation or deflation of the money-maker asset kind. But that fact about Tameka is neither here nor there because as the rest of the world knows except for me, Usher is seeking a divorce from Tameka and it is turning into one of those break-ups of a nasty variety.

Gosselin Divorce: Have They Really Been Separated 2 Years?

By now you have heard.  Jon and Kate have made the announcement, they are divorcing.  But then, Kate shocked everyone by checking the box that said they had been separated for two years on the divorce papers.  How is that possible?  Didn't they just separate?  Have they been lying for the past two years?  Didn't they just renew their vows 12 months ago?

Could they really be that shallow and want free stuff that bad?

Well, yes.  But I honestly believe the box checking was a legal maneuver.  I'll explain.

Police Investigating The Death Of Michael Jackson

We knew this one was coming.  The minute I heard about Michael Jackson's death I said to myself, this has police investigation all over it.

The Los Angeles Police spent Saturday night questioning Michael Jackson's personal physician who was at his side at the time of his death.  He was interviewed for 3 hours, and his spokesperson, Miranda Sevcik, said he answered "every and all questions."  She also said he  "helped identify the circumstances around the death of the pop icon and clarified some inconsistencies."

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Arrested After Airport Fight

Jonathan Rhys Meyers, of Tudors fame, was detained by French police on Saturday afternoon following an incident in which he allegedly assaulted an airport lounge employee while drunk.  An employee at an airport cafe at the Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris refused to serve him because he appeared drunk.  A shouting match developed between Rhys Meyers and the bar manager. Then when another bar employee tried to separate the pair, Rhys Meyers swung and punched the intervening waiter.

Always an appropriate response.  I'm guessing he missed his flight.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Sued for Stealing Book Idea (Wait, Hasselbeck has Ideas?)

Oh look at Elisabeth Hasselbeck holding back that massive wall of mean gluten-filled food. It almost looks like she's really doing it! Hey, I bet that's the same face she makes when Tim says "No" to another trip to Pottery Barn. This image, by the way, is the cover of Elisabeth's new book: The G Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide.

Wow, who knew she had a book? Not me, but apparently The View cohost published this book just this past May. Obviously the book is about living a gluten-free life which doesn't appeal to this here lover of baked goods, so no wonder I didn't know about it. Well, that and the fact that she and anything she does annoys the living daylights out of me and is avoided as much as possible. I swear, if I'm ever forced to watch The View again, I'll shove pencils in my ears.

Botched Chicken Giveaway Garners Lawsuit

Last month Oprah announced on her show that she would treat everyone to a meal from Kentucky Fried Chicken.  Two pieces of grilled chicken, two side dishes and a biscuit.  People ran, didn't walk, for the deal.

Of course, KFC under delivered and had to give costumers an IOU that included a free Pepsi.  Wow, a Pepsi!  Except that customers were asked to mail it in and wait for a different coupon that would allow them to claim the meal in about a week. People were not so happy.

And what do Americans do when they are not happy?  They sue.
